2D Design Systems
2D Design bases itself in the elaboration of drawings, these make reference to the geometrical surface that does not include volume, it is only information structured in two-dimensions and has an infinite number of lines and points, in summary it is a graphical representation of different surface types.
The drawings are used especially in engineering, architecture and design and serve to lay out on a flat surface those that are regularly three dimensional surfaces. The drawings, according to their objective can represent plants, elevations, cuts, general dispositions, fabrication and/or mounting details among others.
In the old days the drawings were drawn on paper or cloth, nowadays, specialized computer based tools are utilized, tools known as CAD (Computer Aided Design).
Two dimensional drawing tools are based on geometric vector entities such points, lines, arches and polygons, which can be manipulated through a graphical interface. The principal platforms used in the national market, especially in engineering companies are AutoCAD and MicroStation in all available versions, although these tools have considerably improved the production of drawings, they have a greater potential which normally is not exploited, like the possibility of incorporating personalized menus, macros that automate the propagation of changed values on a specific attribute, linking references from other platforms among others. Itrokom offers to make the most of these tools to increase the productivity of 2D design that is still one of the major deliverables of engineering.
